Diabetes - a disorder of blood glucose control
Type 1 diabetes - a lack of the hormone "insulin" - requires healthy diet, healthy lifestyle and insulin
Type 2 diabetes - a lack of or poorly functioning insulin - requires healthy diet, healthy lifestyle, with or without insulin or diabetic medication
Cardiovascular disease - disease pertaining to the heart and blood vessels
Elevated blood fats - excess of fats, such as: cholesterol and triglycerides, in the blood
Hypertension - elevated blood pressure
Malnutrition and weight loss - deficiency in particular nutrients or an unintentional weight loss
Gastrointestinal disease - diseases pertaining to the gastrointestinal tract: mouth, throat, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, liver and pancreas
Diverticular disease - a pocket or protrusion into the wall or lining of the intestines
Constipation - infrequent or difficulty in passing stools
Diarrhoea - abnormally frequent passing of liquid or watery stools
Irritable bowel - irregular and uncoordinated bowel movements, instead of the usual constant rhythmic pattern
Coeliac disease - an intolerance to "gluten" which causes damage to the small intestines
Texture modified diets - including well balanced "soft", "pureed or blended" or "liquid" textured foods required for problems with chewing, swallowing or digestion
Renal disease - problems with the processing of the kidney requiring dietary modification
Eating disorders - abnormal eating habits, usually psychophysical
Anorexia bulimia - a prolonged inability or refusal to eat accompanied by binge eating and/or purging
Anorexia nervosa - a prolonged inability or refusal to eat, usually seen in girls and young women
Antenatal and postnatal - during pregnancy and shortly after giving birth respectively
Paediatrics - pertaining to children
Vegetarianism - inclusion of foods from vegetable origins, although some accept dairy and egg products
Enteral and parenteral nutrition - nutrition directly into the gastrointestinal tract or into the blood stream respectively
